P3 Stars Blue Chip Showcase

The P3 Stars Blue Chip Showcase was a Prospect Tournament Founded by Linda Pinizzotto.

The P3 Stars Blue Chip Showcase was an "Elite Tournament" which was listed in the NHL Master Shedule every year over a 3 year period.  The first showcase was held in Stoney Creek, 2nd in Gravenhurst and the 3rd in Mississauga Port Credit Arena.  Special appreciation for food and drink sponsor include Tim Hortons and Pizza Pizza.  CCM graciously donated all jerseys for this event.  Referees, pucks, logo branding and staff was hired and paid with funding from Linda Pinizzotto, Founder and Owner of P3 Sports Entertainment.    The Showcase was free of charge for all participating players and all hockey related Guests.  Parents and Siblings.

Linda believed it was important for all players to receive an opportunity to be seen.  This Showcase allowed draft eligible hockey players playing in OMHA, Jr B, Jr C, and Jr C teams across Ontario to participate.   Many times especially in the more rural areas, there were 1 or 2 draft eligible players on those teams but the frequency of Scouts representing the OHL, OHA and NCAA was less than players in the Provincial Jr A Tier II division.  This division of the OHA covers a considerable larger territory for their draw of players.

OHL, NCAA and OHA Scouts

P3 Stars Blue Chip Showcase was the last chance opportunity to showcase their talents to OHL teams and their Scouts prior to the OHL Draft, also to over 40 NCAA teams from USA University's, various Tier II Provincial Jr.A, Jr.B, Jr C and D Teams across Ontario and other provinces across Canada.  The first year the OMHA - Ontario Minor Hockey Association also participated to include their draft eligible Midget and Bantam players.  They did not participate the 2nd and 3rd year.

The P3 Stars Blue Chip Showcase was the first Showcase in the History of Hockey to have a Minor Hockey Association and Junior Rank Associations in the same tournament.   Players were spread across the teams from each and every level of Hockey so players were able to play within their own age bracket with players from other teams, levels and divisions.   This opportunity for these players to showcase their talents to NHL and OHL Teams, their Owner, Scouts and over 40 NCAA  USA University and College Coaches and Scouts, various Tier II Provincial Jr A, Jr B, Jr C and D Teams across Ontario and thru-out Canada prior to the OHL Draft.

Linda Pinizzotto was the Tournament Founder, Owner and Organizer.  She was the First Female General Manager in the CHA - Canadian Hockey Association and wanted to simply give something back to the system.   Her showcase was sanctioned by Brent Ladds - President of the Canadian Junior Hockey League, David Branch - Commissioner of the Ontario League.  All Junior Tier II Level Presidents and Coaches and all Junior B, C, D Hockey Teams, Coaches and Executives.   She received Association related insurance, through the Ontario Hockey Federation by the CHL and support from the Director Referee Officiating who sanctioned and agreed to referee her 3 sanctioned P3 Blue Chip Showcase.  Doors were open "free of charge" to all Hockey Teams, Scouts, NCAA representatives and Coaches.  Parents, Friend of each player involved.  This Showcase is one of the FINAL looks at players who are draft eligible picks prior to the OHL Draft.
